Wantannas: STAL can be used to Utilize Indonesia's Nickel Potential

BPPT Audit Completed, TMM has been Invited to Develop STAL R&D in Bukit Algoritma
Jakarta - The Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) has completed an audit of STAL (Step Temperature Acid Leach) process technology at the nickel laterite processing pilot plant owned by PT Hydrotech Metal Indonesia (HMI), Thursday (6/5) in Bogor, West Java. Meanwhile, STAL technology is a hydrometallurgical nickel and cobalt processing technology, developed by PT Trinitan Metals and Minerals Tbk (TMM), with the stock code PURE, and owned by HMI as a subsidiary of TMM.

The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) welcomed the final results of validation test on Step Temparature Acid Leach (STAL) technology carried out by the PSDMBP team of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Kementerian ESDM), Prof. Zaki Mubarok and PT Trinitan Metals and Minerals Tbk (TMM).

Has been Proven, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Calls STAL as Strategic Technology Breakthrough
Head of the Center for Mineral, Coal and Geothermal Resources (PSDMBP) of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Kementerian ESDM), Iman Sinulingga, explained the results of finalization test or validation of the Step Temperature Acid Leach (STAL) technology, on Tuesday (6/4) in Bogor. Based on the final result report of that validation test, STAL technology is proven to be able to increase the recovery of Nickel (Ni) and Cobalt (Co) to reach 94% Ni and 95% Co.
